Chihuahua is a dog with big eyes, big ears, and bigger-than-life attitude. It is recorded that Chihuahuas are descended from the Techichi, a companion dog favoured by the Toltecs and that the modern dog developed through breeding with miniaturised Chinese dogs brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors.

They are popular for elderly people and apartment keeper. Because they belong to small breed and most of them are six-to-eight inches tall. The Chihuahua has a graceful overall appearance that is a fine-boned but muscular dog. Its head is distinctive with its rounded skull, large eyes, and large ears that perk upright when the dog is alert and flare out to the sides of the head when the dog is resting.
The temperament of Chihuahua is described as “A graceful, alert, swift-moving little dog with saucy expression, compact, and with terrier-like qualities of temperament”. It is not suitable for families with small children because it is suspicious of everyone but the owner, and a clannish dislike of any breed but its own. Chihuahua is perfect for an elderly couple or individual, a pet owner who loves to pamper, those who live in apartments, and those on limited incomes. It is a wonderful companion for someone who lives alone.
